Patna, Dec 31 (NationPress) The police in Patna have successfully dismantled a fraudulent interview racket that was deceiving unemployed individuals by offering them non-existent jobs with the Patna Metro, an official revealed during a press briefing on Wednesday.
On receiving credible information, the Jakkanpur police executed a raid in the Vigrahpur locality, where a fake office was operating.
Upon investigation, law enforcement discovered that the perpetrators had established a phony office and were luring young job seekers into attending fictitious interviews.
The victims were misled with false guarantees of job offers and were coerced into paying application fees, processing charges, and other related costs.
After collecting substantial sums, the fraudsters continued to deceive candidates with empty promises of employment for an extended period.
Following the validation of the intelligence, a police team was formed, leading to the arrest of three individuals involved in the scam on Tuesday.
The suspects have been identified as Navin Kumar from Saharsa, Akhilesh Kumar Singh from Danapur, Patna, and Akhilesh Choudhary from Nawada.
During the operation, officers seized numerous incriminating documents and materials linked to the fraudulent recruitment scheme, which confirmed the illegal activities.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Sadar), Patna, Abhinav Kumar, stated, “We took swift action upon receiving reports of fraud being committed under the guise of Patna Metro recruitment. Three individuals have been apprehended. A comprehensive investigation into the gang's methods is ongoing, and further links to this network will be pursued for appropriate legal measures.”
The police revealed that the accused were charging candidates between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000 for training, amassing around Rs 8 lakh through their deceitful activities.
Authorities have advised job seekers to rely solely on official websites, authorized advertisements, and legitimate recruitment processes for government and public sector positions.
Moreover, they encouraged individuals to report any unauthorized offices, fake interviews, or monetary demands promptly, ensuring timely actions against these fraudsters.
