Ranchi, May 27 (NationPress) A shocking triple homicide has shaken the McCluskieganj region of Ranchi district in Jharkhand, where a man reportedly bludgeoned his wife and two small children to death with a grinding stone before escaping the scene, authorities revealed on Tuesday.

The tragic event took place late Monday night in Dhoop Basti, situated approximately 60 km from Ranchi.

The suspect, identified as Ravi Lohara, is believed to have carried out the murders following a domestic dispute. He resided at his in-laws’ home with his family.

As per police reports, Ravi attacked his 29-year-old wife, Renu Devi, along with their two children -- Aarush Kumar (7) and Aarohi Kumari (4) -- using a heavy grinding stone, killing all three instantly.

Their blood-stained bodies were found inside the house on Tuesday morning, causing widespread panic and outrage in the neighborhood.

Local residents alerted the police, who arrived at the scene to recover the bodies. A forensic team was dispatched to gather samples and evidence from the crime scene, and the murder weapon -- the grinding stone -- has been confiscated.

Ranchi (Rural) Superintendent of Police (SP) Sumit Kumar Agarwal confirmed that the perpetrator is currently on the run. “We are conducting raids to locate and apprehend Ravi Lohara. He will be captured shortly,” Agarwal stated.

Eyewitnesses and locals described Ravi as a mentally unstable and aggressive individual, often involved in frequent altercations, particularly when under the influence.

He reportedly had numerous disputes with his wife and had previously clashed with neighbors. On Monday night, residents reportedly heard screams coming from the house but dismissed them, thinking it was just another domestic argument.

The horrific nature of the crime and the tender age of the victims have sent shockwaves through the community. The police are actively investigating while efforts to apprehend the accused continue.
