This past Saturday, the Central government successfully deposited the 20th instalment into the bank accounts of millions of farmers nationwide, including over Rs 34 crore allocated to beneficiaries in Valsad.
A notable gathering took place at the Ambheti Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Kaprada, featuring Gujarat’s Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai, district officials, local legislators, and hundreds of farmers. The event also showcased a live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address from Varanasi.
In conversations with IANS, many farmers conveyed their gratitude towards the Prime Minister, emphasizing how the scheme has significantly lessened their financial burdens during crucial agricultural seasons.
“Previously, we had to take loans from moneylenders at exorbitant interest rates for seeds and fertilizers. Now, the direct transfer under PM-KISAN has simplified our financial management for farming,” remarked local farmer Chandubhai Patel.
Another beneficiary, Ganesh Chaudhary, commended the scheme’s unwavering support, stating that it has brought respect and financial autonomy to small-scale farmers.
Devbhai Yadav noted, “The PM Kisan Nidhi Yojana has been a true blessing. It enables us to purchase fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides promptly, without dependency on loans. The funds are transferred directly to our accounts, establishing transparency and trust.”
Gujarat Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai stated, “Under Prime Minister Modi’s guidance, the Central government has made farmer welfare a top priority. Inspired by his vision, Gujarat has also implemented various schemes for agricultural enhancement.”
Initiated in 2019, the PM-KISAN scheme provides eligible farmer families with an annual income support of Rs 6,000, distributed in three equal instalments.
The 20th instalment was disbursed nationwide this past Saturday.
