Pathankot, Aug 3 (NationPress) On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the 20th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), transferring approximately Rs 20,500 crore directly into the bank accounts of 9.7 crore eligible farmers.
This financial support has proven essential for millions of farmers, assisting them not only in fulfilling their agricultural requirements but also in navigating through challenging times.
In Pathankot, Punjab, many farmers expressed their joy upon receiving the 20th instalment of PM-KISAN, their faces glowing with happiness as they celebrated the direct transfer of funds into their accounts.
Numerous beneficiaries of the PM-KISAN scheme shared that the financial aid has significantly bolstered their economic stability and propelled their farming endeavors.
Farmers from Kot Uparla village in Pathankot reported receiving Rs 2,000 in their bank accounts and conveyed their gratitude to the Modi administration for the Samman Nidhi.
Beneficiary Preeto Singh Battu remarked, "The government’s assistance is immensely beneficial for small-scale farmers like me."
He added, "With this money, I can timely complete fertilization and irrigation tasks on my land."
Another beneficiary commented, "Receiving Rs 2,000 through the PM Kisan Yojana is instrumental for my farming. It ensures I can apply fertilizers and medicines to my crops promptly. We appreciate the government’s support for this initiative."
Premchand, another beneficiary, noted that PM-KISAN provides essential financial backing for farmers.
"This support enables us to supply fertilizers and water without delay. I recently received Rs 2,000 in my account," he stated.
It’s important to highlight that PM-KISAN is a central sector scheme inaugurated in February 2019 by the Prime Minister, aimed at addressing the financial needs of land-holding farmers. Under this scheme, a financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year is disbursed in three equal instalments into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of farmers via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) method.
