Damoh, July 9 (NationPress) The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019 to assist land-holding farmers financially by providing them with monetary support.
Under this scheme, farmers receive a yearly financial aid of Rs 6,000, disbursed in three equal installments directly into their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
This initiative has garnered a positive response from farmers nationwide, demonstrating significant success in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh.
Recent estimates indicate that approximately 1,87,072 farmers are benefiting from this scheme.
Every eligible farmer in the district is enrolling in this farmer-centric program, reaping its advantages.
Farmer Ujyar Singh Lodhi, who cultivates 5 acres in Jamunkheda village, mentioned that he receives Rs 2,000 every four months through the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
"The financial support from PM-KISAN is incredibly helpful. We allocate it for agricultural expenses, our children’s education, seed purchases, and land preparation. We are sincerely thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing this initiative that provides Rs 6,000 in financial aid to small-scale farmers," he stated.
Another farmer, Anand Yadav, from Bisnakhedi village, shared that he also receives Rs 2,000 every four months from the central government through the PM-KISAN Yojana.
He expressed his satisfaction, stating that the Modi government is making commendable efforts for the farming community.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Modi has credited farmers' accounts for the 19th time this February.
During an event in Bihar's Bhagalpur, PM Modi announced the 19th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme, benefiting over 9.8 crore farmers, including 2.41 crore female farmers nationwide. Beneficiaries received direct financial assistance exceeding Rs 22,000 crore through DBT.
