Farrhana Bhatt asked family to disown her publicly: 'I decided I'll be alone'
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Actress and Bigg Boss 19 contestant Farrhana Bhatt has revealed one of the most wrenching decisions of her life — asking her own family to publicly announce their disassociation from her. The Kashmir-born actress, speaking candidly in a recent interview, described the move as the single biggest risk she has ever taken in pursuit of her ambitions.
The Decision to Cut Ties
'The biggest risk in life taken by me, is that I completely cut myself off from my close blood relatives. To a limit where I told them you can publicly announce ‘she doesn’t belong to us’. That was the biggest risk I took,' Farrhana said.
She explained that severing those bonds was not a sudden or easy choice. Blood relationships, she noted, carry an implicit safety net — the hope that someone from the family will step in during the lowest moments. Choosing to walk away from that expectation entirely was, by her own account, an act of deliberate solitude.
Alone but Unbroken
'Somewhere in your blood relation, if you are at your lowest, you have certain expectations that maybe someone from your family will someday come up and help you, or say a few words that motivate you. But at that point, when you have actually no one around, it’s just you and your mother, and you are cutting off everyone, publicly telling them, ‘You don’t belong to me. I don’t belong to you,’ that’s when you completely put yourself into solitude,' she shared.
Despite the emotional weight of that isolation, Farrhana said she refused to abandon her goals. 'I decided that I will be alone, but I won’t give up on my dreams or whatever I want to do. That was the biggest risk I ever took,' she added.
Rise to Recognition
Hailing from Kashmir, Farrhana Bhatt came to national attention through her stint on Bigg Boss Season 19 in 2025. Her outspoken personality and fearless conduct on the reality show drew widespread viewer attention, though she was also criticised and trolled for her use of abusive language during the season.
Following her exit from the show, she featured in a music video alongside singer-composer Amaal Mallik.
What Comes Next
Farrhana is now set to push her limits further as a confirmed participant in the stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 15. The upcoming season is expected to test contestants physically and psychologically — a challenge that appears well-suited to someone who has already navigated extreme personal adversity.
