New Delhi, June 16 (NationPress) A chilling video featuring Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam trekking along a forest path in Meghalaya has captured significant attention on social media — believed to be the final visual of the Indore couple before Raja was allegedly murdered in a shocking plot involving his wife and her lover.

The footage, unwittingly recorded by travel vlogger Devender Singh during a visit to the renowned Double Decker Root Bridge in Cherrapunji’s Nongriat village on May 23, has ignited emotional responses and suspicions across platforms.

Singh, who shared the clip on Instagram, referred to it as “possibly the last video of the Indore couple.”

“During my trip to Meghalaya, I visited the double-decker root bridge on May 23,” Singh mentioned in his Instagram post.

“While reviewing my footage yesterday, I stumbled upon a clip of the couple. It was around 9:45 am—we were trekking down, and they were ascending after spending the night in Nongriat village. Sonam was dressed in the same white shirt that was later discovered near Raja’s remains. Watching Raja in the video now… it’s heartbreaking. He appeared normal, completely oblivious to what was about to unfold.”

Devender Singh has urged netizens to disseminate the video broadly to aid the Meghalaya Police in their ongoing investigation. “It might help in connecting a few more dots,” he stated.

In the clip, Sonam can be seen walking ahead with a plastic bag—presumably containing a raincoat—while Raja follows, burdened with most of their gear. The viral video has accumulated over 4.5 million views, with countless users reacting emotionally to what now seems to be a prelude to tragedy.

According to Meghalaya Police, Raja and Sonam checked out of Shipra Homestay between 5:30 and 6:00 am on May 23 before embarking on their trek. Later that day, Raja was reportedly pushed into a 1,000-foot gorge. His body was recovered on June 2 after an extensive search.

The couple, married on May 11 in Indore, arrived in Meghalaya on May 21 for their honeymoon. They were reported missing from Sohra (Cherrapunji) on May 23.

Sonam was apprehended a week later in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. During questioning, she admitted to orchestrating the murder alongside her boyfriend, Raj Kushwaha. She also named three accomplices: Vishal Chauhan, Anand Kurmi, and Akash Rajput. All four have been taken into custody by Indore Police.

This case has shocked the nation — not only for its brutality but also for the chilling calculation behind what was supposed to be a honeymoon, which instead morphed into a murder investigation.
