Indore, June 18 (NationPress) A team from Meghalaya Police made a visit to the home of Sonam Raghuvanshi, the primary suspect in the murder of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, on Wednesday. During this visit, they interrogated her family members as part of the ongoing investigation into the case.

At Sonam's residence in the Govind Nagar area, under the jurisdiction of the Banganga police station in Indore, police officers questioned her father Devi Singh, brother Govind Raghuvanshi, and mother, according to sources.

The team from Meghalaya arrived in Indore on June 17 to escalate their investigation regarding the disturbing murder of Raja during his honeymoon in Shillong on May 23.

The police also visited Raja's home to meet his family, including his mother, on the same day.

Accompanying the Meghalaya Police was a unit from the Crime Branch of Indore Police.

On June 9, Sonam was apprehended in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh. The Meghalaya Police also inspected a flat near Dewas Naka on the Agra-Bombay Road to verify details obtained from the interrogation of five individuals currently in custody and to gather further evidence.

Remarkably, after the initial investigation, Meghalaya Police noted that after the murder of Raja in Shillong, Sonam returned to Indore, where she resided in a rented place from May 25 until June 7. She then traveled to Ghazipur in a vehicle arranged by Raj Kushwaha.

The flat Sonam reportedly vacated on June 7 revealed minimal clues, with only a few clothing items and some utensils remaining. Authorities suspect that she carefully disposed of evidence of her stay before departing.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Indore) Rajesh Dandotia informed IANS that an Indore Police crime team has been assigned to support the Meghalaya police in their investigation of Raja's murder, in which his wife Sonam is a crucial suspect.

"The Meghalaya police reached out to Indore police for assistance during their visit for further inquiries into the matter. A crime branch team is here to help them and will leave once their investigation concludes," Dandotia stated.

When asked for more information regarding the ongoing investigation into Raja Raghuvanshi's murder, particularly about the recent visit by Meghalaya police to Indore, Dandotia replied: "The Meghalaya police have not disclosed any details to the Indore police."
