Former US Army Soldier Michael Transforms into 'Baba Mokshpuri' by Adopting Sanatan Dharma

Mahakumbh Nagar, Jan 13 (NationPress) The Mahakumbh 2025 is attracting saints and spiritual leaders from all over the world, including those from international locations. Michael, a former soldier of the US Army, has transformed into a saint during the ongoing Mahakumbh, adopting the name Baba Mokshpuri as he embraces Sanatan Dharma.

With his new identity as Baba Mokshpuri, he stands as a symbol of spirituality, drawing the attention of many at the sacred confluence in Prayagraj. Michael's transformative journey began after he found peace in Sanatan Dharma, following the tragic loss of his son.

Reflecting on this life-altering experience, he shared, “I was once an ordinary individual who cherished moments with my family, my wife, and traveling. But a realization about the fleeting nature of worldly pursuits led me on a quest for spiritual salvation.”

Now, as a committed member of Juna Akhara, Baba Mokshpuri has devoted his life to advocating for Sanatan Dharma. His spiritual journey began in 2000 during his first visit to India with his family.

“That journey was pivotal,” he recalls. “I discovered meditation, yoga, and the profound essence of Sanatan Dharma. The depth of Indian culture and traditions moved me, awakening my spirituality, which I now perceive as a divine calling.”

A significant moment in his life was the untimely passing of his son, a tragedy that reshaped his worldview.

“This sorrowful experience revealed to me the transient nature of life. Meditation and yoga became my refuge, guiding me through my grief,” he explains.

Since that time, Baba Mokshpuri has immersed himself in yoga, meditation, and spiritual enlightenment, traveling worldwide to share the wisdom of Indian culture and the teachings of Sanatan Dharma.

Beginning with his participation in the Ujjain Kumbh in 2016, he has committed to attending each Mahakumbh, celebrating India's unmatched spiritual heritage.

Baba Mokshpuri also attributes a significant part of his spiritual growth to Neem Karoli Baba.

“The energy at Neem Karoli Baba's ashram was transformative. It felt as if Baba embodied the spirit of Lord Hanuman, enhancing my devotion and dedication to meditation and yoga,” he recounts.

By renouncing his Western lifestyle, Baba Mokshpuri has embraced a path of self-realization and spiritual service.

He has plans to establish an ashram in New Mexico to promote Indian philosophy, yoga, and the universal values of Sanatan Dharma.
