He emphasized that India is progressively advancing towards becoming a strong producer economy.
In response to a social media update by Rahul Gandhi that underscored significant job creation at a manufacturing facility in Karnataka, Vaishnaw remarked that these advancements are a testament to the Prime Minister’s vision of fostering a resilient manufacturing ecosystem in the nation.
“I appreciate Rahul Gandhi for acknowledging the success of PM Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' programme,” Vaishnaw noted in a post while sharing Gandhi's observations.
“As you have rightly pointed out, we are evolving into a producer economy as we execute our PM’s vision,” he continued.
Rahul Gandhi, in his post, highlighted the swift hiring of approximately 30,000 workers within a mere eight to nine months, labeling it as the quickest factory ramp-up witnessed in India thus far.
He indicated that this development transcends mere statistics, emphasizing meaningful job creation, particularly for young women.
“30,000 staff hired in just eight to nine months - the fastest factory ramp-up seen in India so far,” stated Rahul Gandhi.
He pointed out that nearly 80 percent of the workforce at the unit consists of women, predominantly aged between 19 and 24, many of whom are embarking on their first job.
“This is not just a statistic. It represents transformative job creation. What adds to its impact is that the unit is primarily women-led, with around 80 percent women, mostly aged 19–24, and for many, this is their inaugural job,” he noted.
He remarked that Karnataka is setting a benchmark by fostering an environment conducive to rapid and large-scale manufacturing growth.
The Congress leader further stated that such initiatives portray the kind of India that must be cultivated, where individuals secure jobs with dignity and equal opportunities.
