New Delhi, Sep 11 (NationPress) The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) sent a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, expressing serious concerns regarding Rahul Gandhi's security compliance. Sunil June, the head of CRPF VVIP Security, pointed out that the Leader of Opposition has repeatedly neglected essential security protocols. The letter, dated September 10, highlighted that despite being a prominent political figure, the Rae Bareli MP has not been vigilant about his own safety.
This notification follows a security incident during Rahul Gandhi's recent visit to Rae Bareli, where he encountered protests from BJP supporters, leading to a blockade on the highway. The Congress MP's convoy was stuck for approximately 15 minutes amidst a chaotic scene with verbal confrontations. Only after police intervention was the convoy able to proceed.
In addition to the protests, CRPF raised alarms over Rahul Gandhi's unannounced foreign trips. The letter stated, “In the last nine months, Rahul has breached security protocols during six international trips, all conducted without prior notice to the security team, creating significant challenges for them.”
Being classified as a VVIP, Rahul Gandhi is entitled to Z+ protection. Security protocols necessitate that individuals with such status inform their security team at least 15 days before any overseas travel; however, the Congress leader has consistently failed to adhere to this requirement.
His recent journey to Malaysia was criticized by the BJP, labeling it a “vacation during VP polls,” while images surfaced showing him wandering without any security presence.
