Key Takeaways
Jaipur, March 26 (NationPress) A fierce political clash has erupted in Rajasthan as Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma vehemently criticized former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for promoting a digital initiative dubbed "Intezaar Shastra".
On Thursday, Chief Minister Sharma dismissed Gehlot's campaign as deceptive, labeling it not only an "Intezaar Shastra" (doctrine of waiting) but also a "Jhooth Shastra" (doctrine of lies).
He reflected on the tenure of the earlier Congress administration, recalling instances of recruitment and examination paper leaks that plagued that period.
Sharma asserted that under the current BJP-led government, such occurrences have drastically diminished, with numerous individuals implicated in these scandals now facing imprisonment.
He further pointed out alleged misconduct related to the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) during the previous Congress government, claiming that actions are being taken against those responsible, including both officials and political figures under the present BJP government.
"The fabrications of hollow 'magic' merely create an illusion; remember, the day will come for everyone involved in corruption," Chief Minister Sharma stated.
He continued, "The Congress party has devised a strategy they refer to as 'Intezaar Shastra' (The Doctrine of Waiting). Let me clarify for them — given their frequent mentions of this on X — that this is not simply an 'Intezaar Shastra'; it is also a 'Jhooth Shastra' (The Doctrine of Lies)."
"Indeed, there exists a 'Doctrine of Lies' consistently being perpetuated; discuss that as well. Recruitment exam papers used to be leaked regularly; observe how many such leaks have been halted now. Look at how many individuals involved in these acts are currently incarcerated. Also, examine the way you (Congress) engaged in corruption regarding the JJM (Jal Jeevan Mission) scheme. Your Ministers are facing jail time; your officials are being imprisoned — this is ongoing, and the list is extensive."
The Chief Minister declared: "I want to make it absolutely clear to everyone: anyone, without exception, who has engaged in any form of misconduct or corruption will face consequences. I firmly believe they will ultimately be imprisoned."
Earlier on Thursday, Gehlot addressed the media regarding his 'Intezaar Shastra' campaign, stating: "Yes, we are conducting this campaign specifically to pressure the current BJP government. Our aim is to draw attention to the structures built across Rajasthan that remain unutilized."
"Thus, this initiative we have launched is intended to specifically apply pressure on the government. For instance, the Social Science Institute — which we (Congress) aimed to establish in the same vein as the Tata Institute — currently sits idle. Additionally, with respect to the Gandhi Museum, a site that should be bustling with children from all over the state, there are absolutely no events or activities occurring there."
"Consequently, regarding these projects that have been stalled, such as the IPD Tower; the entire state is observing this situation. Hence, we (Congress) are exerting pressure on the existing BJP government."
