Samalkha (Haryana), Oct 31 (NationPress) A magnificent spiritual event is taking place at the 78th Annual Nirankari Sant Samagam, hosted at the Sant Nirankari Spiritual Complex along the GT Road in Samalkha, Haryana. Spanning almost 650 acres, this gathering has attracted devotees from 25 countries, with over one lakh volunteers actively involved in organizing and serving in the continuous 24-hour community kitchen, known as langar.
As per the organizers, approximately 5 to 5.5 lakh devotees and saints have already participated, with expectations to surpass 10 lakh in the days ahead.
In a special interview with IANS, Samagam Secretary Joginder Sukhija stated that this congregation symbolizes a 'confluence of humanity and introspection', with each organizational detail being managed flawlessly. The expansive venue features six large community kitchens, 22 canteens, a hospital, dispensaries, and thousands of toilets, providing excellent facilities for all participants.
Sukhija noted that nearly one lakh members of the Nirankari Sewadal are stationed from the national highway to the railway station, exhibiting remarkable discipline. 'This service transcends boundaries of caste, religion, or nationality. Volunteers from various nations are working side by side with their Indian peers,' he remarked.
This year's theme for the Samagam is 'Atma Manthan' or self-introspection. Addressing the devotees, Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj encouraged everyone to reflect on their contributions towards the betterment of humanity and society. Nirankari Rajpita is also anticipated to share his thoughts on the theme in upcoming sessions.
Sukhija revealed that around 3,000 devotees from 25 countries have arrived at the Samagam site, with numbers expected to rise to 5,000.
Describing the magnitude of the community kitchen, volunteer Pradeep Verma explained that the langar operates continuously. Ten large cauldrons are utilized to prepare lentils and rice, while chapatis are made in rotation. Daily, over 50 quintals of wheat flour and approximately 4 quintals of lentils and rice are used, resulting in nearly three lakh chapatis produced every 24 hours.
'At any moment, around 10,000 devotees can dine together, with the process ongoing in rotation,' Sukhija added.
More than 300 women and 300 men are dedicated to food preparation, while over 2,000 volunteers serve meals in shifts of three hours each. The sight of disciplined Sewadal members, attired in their unique uniforms, showcases the spirit of equality and service that defines the Nirankari Mission.
'There is no discrimination in service. Everyone works shoulder-to-shoulder with the same spirit of devotion—this is the true essence of the Nirankari Mission,' Sukhija concluded.
