Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 27 (NationPress) Google has launched Search Live on a global scale, facilitating real-time, interactive dialogues with Search in AI Mode across over 200 countries and regions, utilizing voice and camera capabilities, according to a recent blog update.
The American technology leader announced that this expansion is fueled by the latest audio and voice model, Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, which the company asserts provides more natural, intuitive, and multilingual interactions, allowing users to converse with Search in their language of choice.
The announcement further revealed that Search Live, which initially debuted in India in English and Hindi, is now accessible in various Indian languages, such as Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Google characterized Search Live as a valuable tool for situations where typing is cumbersome, and it can be accessed through the Google app on both Android and iOS platforms by tapping the Live icon below the Search bar.
Users are able to verbally pose their queries and receive informative audio answers, subsequently continuing the dialogue with follow-up inquiries or exploring deeper with relevant web links, as stated by the company.
“For instance, if you wish to inquire about something in your vicinity, like installing a new shelving unit, you can activate your camera to provide visual context,” the post elaborated, adding that this feature “can interpret what your camera captures and offer useful suggestions, alongside links to additional information online.”
With Google Lens, users can select a 'Live option' at the bottom of their screen to engage in a real-time, interactive conversation about tangible objects.
Additionally, the government has recently initiated a national AI Skilling Initiative in collaboration with Google and YouTube, aimed at training 15,000 participants from the creative and media sectors through the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT).
This program aims to enhance AI competencies in fields such as animation, visual effects, gaming, comics (AVGC), and media technology, as per an official declaration.
