Patna, Nov 24 (NationPress) The Gopalganj police in Bihar have successfully solved the shocking murder case of Savita Devi with the apprehension of the primary suspect, her spouse, Munna Chaudhary, as disclosed by an official on Monday.

The tragic event transpired on November 16 in Pandey Samail village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Mirganj police station in the Gopalganj district.

The entire community was left reeling from the incident. From the outset, investigators pointed fingers at her husband, who had gone into hiding immediately after the event.

According to police reports, Munna Chaudhary was apprehended near Barkagaon Chowk and has admitted to being the mastermind behind the murder.

Savita Devi was discovered dead in the village on the morning of November 16, initially thought to be a crime executed by unidentified assailants.

The autopsy revealed that Savita had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Hathwa SDPO Anand Mohan Gupta mentioned that the suspect was caught based on human intelligence and technical surveillance.

“During the interrogation, Munna disclosed that he had engaged four accomplices from Siwan to execute the murder due to family strife, domestic issues, and suspicions of an extramarital affair. He confessed to paying Rs 5 lakh for this heinous act,” Gupta stated.

Following his revelations, the local police recovered a country-made Katta used in the crime and the attire worn by the accused at the time.

Authorities also reported that Savita Devi was the mother of a BSF jawan.

An FIR has been lodged under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sahita (BNS) Act, concerning murder and criminal conspiracy, at the Mirganj police station, based on a complaint filed by her daughter.

As the investigation unfolded and technical evidence was scrutinized, the husband's involvement became increasingly apparent.
