New Delhi, Jan 13 (NationPress) The Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India (PSA) along with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has unveiled a strategic collaboration with Netflix to introduce Inspiring Innovators-Naye Bharat Ki Nayi Pehchaaan -- a skilling initiative that aligns with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
This initiative emphasizes the significance of storytelling, skilling, and start-ups in fortifying India’s innovation ecosystem.
Developed in partnership with the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity and executed by Graphiti Studios, the initiative showcases the achievements of eight Indian start-ups recognized by the PSA for their impactful social innovations.
These start-ups are highlighted through eight animated films crafted by students from eight universities across India, including the National Institute of Design, Chitkara University, and the Satyajit Ray Institute of Film and Television, among others.
The films feature voiceovers from participants of the Voicebox initiative, a collaborative effort by Netflix and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).
“Inspiring Innovators aims to spotlight innovation that has social relevance while simultaneously reinforcing skills and knowledge pathways. By uniting start-ups and students through a creative framework, along with skilling support from the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity and industry mentorship, the programme embodies a comprehensive approach to nurturing India’s innovation ecosystem, linking policy goals with talent development and practical application,” stated Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, PSA.
“Inspiring Innovators showcases a collective commitment to acknowledging innovation that provides genuine social value. By merging storytelling with practical skilling, this initiative unites government, industry, and aspiring creators to present ideas that are significantly impacting India’s innovation ecosystem in a meaningful and inclusive manner,” remarked Mahima Kaul, Director, Global Affairs, Netflix India.
Structured as a storytelling-and-skilling-led programme under the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity, the initiative offered hands-on creative experiences to a group of 26 students from various regions of India.
Half of the participants were women, with several students representing Tier-2 cities.
The students received mentorship from specialists at the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, and Graphiti Studios, gaining valuable, real-world insights into industry processes.
“As storytelling evolves with the influence of creators and emerging technologies, initiatives like Inspiring Innovators demonstrate how creativity can be harnessed for societal benefit,” mentioned Dr. L. Murugan, Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting.
