Gandhinagar, Jan 21 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, has issued rigorous directives to the heads of state departments to guarantee that there is no compromise on the quality of construction projects essential for the state's progress.
These directives came during a Cabinet meeting, where the Chief Minister stressed that all ongoing and future initiatives must adhere to the highest standards.
Government spokesperson and Minister Jitu Vaghani stated, “The Chief Minister has made it clear that ensuring top-notch quality in construction projects is our prime focus. Any shortcoming, regardless of its size, should be promptly addressed in the interest of the public.”
Minister Vaghani pointed out the Mehmedabad - Mahudha road project, which was built at a cost of Rs 200 crore. “We received complaints indicating that this road, aimed at enhancing transport facilities for the public, had degraded within a year. The Chief Minister has mandated the Roads and Buildings Department to restore it immediately and has ordered an inquiry into those responsible,” he mentioned.
On the subject of fund allocation, Minister Vaghani remarked, “The Chief Minister has instructed all departments that no work should be halted due to insufficient grants. Officials are required to ensure advance planning and timely requests for funds, allowing citizen-centric projects to proceed without any interruptions.”
He further noted, “Departments have also been urged to efficiently utilize their allocated budgets by the end of March. Administrative delays must not hinder public services.”
Officials have been reminded that serious lapses impacting public projects will result in strict measures.
By emphasizing proactive management, the government aspires to uphold high standards while ensuring that developmental efforts are not obstructed by financial or administrative barriers.
Earlier, the government announced that it had allocated over Rs 9,466 crore in financial support to more than 32 lakh farmers impacted by unseasonable and heavy rainfall in the state.
