Ahmedabad, Aug 4 (NationPress) Gujarat's Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel ceremoniously inaugurated the foundation of a 46-kilometre four-lane roadway project that links Amod-Roza-Tankaria-Muler in the Bharuch district, with an estimated investment of Rs 400 crore.
Upon completion, this vital roadway will significantly facilitate vehicle transit from the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway to Dahej, enhancing regional logistics and alleviating traffic bottlenecks.
The event was part of a broader developmental initiative, where the Chief Minister unveiled and dedicated projects worth Rs 637 crore throughout Bharuch on a single day, under a special Vikas Utsav hosted by the district administration.
Included in this were 34 projects aimed at improving road connectivity, infrastructure, healthcare, sanitation, education, and sports.
Of this budget, Rs 576 crore has been earmarked specifically for road enhancements. During his address, CM Patel remarked, “The politics of development has ushered transformative changes in our nation, and Gujarat's growth trajectory has effectively doubled.”
He emphasized the success of the ‘double engine’ government model, attributing it to the transformation of Bharuch, Ankleshwar, Jhagadia, and Dahej into industrial townships that foster economic activity and job creation.
In alignment with the national vision for Atmanirbhar Bharat, Patel reiterated the importance of being ‘Vocal for Local’, promoting local production to enhance self-sufficiency. He noted that under PM Modi’s leadership, reforms across all sectors of the GDP have strengthened confidence in governance.
“Citizens are paying taxes with trust, secure in the knowledge that their contributions fuel development,” he stated.
Bharuch, often celebrated as the Chemical Capital of India, has developed into a significant industrial center, with key projects such as the Jambusar Bulk Drug Park, Dahej PCPIR, LNG Terminals, and the Seafood and Tribal Industrial Parks in Valia playing a crucial role in regional growth.
The district is also set to be integrated into the Surat Economic Region, a specialized industrial zone being established with guidance from NITI Aayog, which will enhance opportunities in tourism, industry, and infrastructure.
In a gesture of outreach, the Chief Minister distributed Rs 51 lakh in welfare assistance to beneficiaries of various schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mission Mangalam, and agricultural development.
Moreover, PMJAY health cards that provide cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh were presented to the public. Local representatives, including Ankleshwar MLA Eshwar Pate, praised the state's progress towards becoming the nation's first 5G-enabled, eco-friendly, global growth hub. The District Collector Gaurang Makwana provided an overview of the event and highlighted developmental achievements.
