Gandhinagar, April 16 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, led a significant review meeting of the Gujarat State Road Development Corporation (GSRDC) in Gandhinagar on Wednesday, granting approval for development initiatives valued at Rs 247.35 crore aimed at enhancing essential road infrastructure throughout the state.

An official stated that these initiatives are intended to improve connectivity, facilitate traffic movement, and aid industrial growth, especially in fast-evolving areas.

Among the major endorsements was the expansion of the Shantipura to Khoraj segment on the Ahmedabad–Viramgam–Maliya route into a six-lane highway.

“This project, with an estimated budget of Rs 800 crore, is projected to substantially benefit the Sanand industrial zone, enhancing access to GIDC areas and promoting additional investments in the region,” he mentioned.

The official further noted that the Chief Minister assessed the status of ongoing projects managed by GSRDC, which is currently handling projects worth Rs 2,999.8 crore over 188.9 kilometres of road.

“These projects include the six-lane elevated corridor on the Bharuch-Dahej Road, the Bharuch-Dahej Expressway, the Vataman-Pipli High-Speed Corridor, the Bhuj-Bhachau High-Speed Corridor, modernization of the Kim-Mandvi Road, and the construction of a railway overbridge near Sachana village,” he added.

He also revealed that the Chief Minister sanctioned the construction of four new vehicle underpasses on the Bhuj-Bhachau highway, including one adjacent to the BKT Factory (estimated at Rs 27 crore), one near Dhaneti village (estimated at Rs 17.50 crore), one proximate to Bhadroi village (estimated at Rs 14.25 crore), and another near Dudhai village (estimated at Rs 17 crore), totaling an estimated Rs 76 crore.

“These underpasses are anticipated to minimize accidents and alleviate congestion by segregating local traffic from long-distance travel,” he stated.

Additionally, underpasses were approved on the Vataman-Pipli road, adjacent to Bhetadiya Dada Temple at Rs 13.61 crore and another opposite Pipli village at Rs 15 crore.

“These infrastructural enhancements are intended to facilitate smoother and safer vehicle movement along high-traffic routes,” he concluded.
