Anand, Jan 30 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, on Friday, inaugurated and laid the foundation for 49 development projects focused on public welfare, amounting to Rs 234.01 crore in Khambhat. This significant investment aims to rejuvenate both infrastructure and social development within the Anand district.
Speaking to a crowd at Chakdol Ground, the Chief Minister emphasized the state government's dedication to ensuring that development reaches every citizen.
“These initiatives represent more than just physical structures; they are landmarks that will improve the living standards for the residents of Anand district,” he stated.
The projects consist of 13 state-level and 12 panchayat-level initiatives under the Roads and Buildings Department, aimed at enhancing connectivity and upgrading transport facilities. The other projects cover sectors such as education, health, urban development, and water resource management.
Referring to this effort as a “triveni sangam” of education, health, and urban development, Patel asserted that developing human resources is a top priority for the state government.
Within the realm of the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department, 10 projects will bolster local municipalities’ capacities. The Education Department will oversee five projects that include building new schools and classrooms to enhance access to quality education in rural settings.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister inaugurated four health projects, highlighting the administration’s commitment to expanding medical infrastructure and healthcare accessibility.
Additionally, five projects under the Narmada, Water Resources and Water Supply Department are expected to address long-term irrigation and drinking water issues in the region.
During his speech, Patel expressed concern over the rise in lifestyle diseases among younger populations. He cautioned that the excessive use of chemical pesticides in agriculture poses serious health risks, as these substances find their way into the food supply.
“To ensure a healthy future for the upcoming generation, we need to safeguard our soil and our health,” the Chief Minister remarked, encouraging farmers to embrace chemical-free natural farming methods.
He also commended the craftsmanship and global reputation of Khambhat’s traditional kite-making industry.
Earlier that day, the Chief Minister launched a significant digital governance initiative from Bhadran village in Borsad taluka, where he conducted the e-foundation ceremony for 2,666 Gram Panchayats across Gujarat from TB High School.
The introduction of digital processes will enable villagers to access government services locally, eliminating the need to travel to urban centers. At the same time, the state government initiated the Mukhyamantri Gramotthan Yojana across 114 villages, focusing on critical infrastructure such as roads, street lighting, drainage, and sanitation facilities.
The event saw the attendance of ministers Rushikesh Patel, Raman Solanki, Kamlesh Patel, and Sanjay Singh Mahida, along with senior administrative officials and local representatives.
The Chief Minister noted that the collaborative efforts of both the central and state governments under the double-engine governance model are geared towards transforming each district in Gujarat into a benchmark of inclusive and balanced development.
He further added that the rural development initiatives launched from Bhadran are poised to strengthen the rural economy throughout the state in the years to come.
