The franchise, owned by Adani Sportsline, made significant acquisitions, including the experienced New Zealand all-rounder Sophie Devine for Rs 2 crore, followed by the signing of Indian pacer Renuka Singh Thakur for Rs 60 lakh. They also utilized their first RTM to re-sign Bharti Fulmali for Rs 70 lakh and brought in young seamer Titas Sadhu for Rs 30 lakh.

"We’re extremely satisfied with how the auction unfolded. We managed to select the players we aimed for, resulting in a dynamic team that fuses seasoned leaders with vibrant young talents. This equilibrium provides us with remarkable adaptability as a coaching staff,” stated Klinger.

“While it’s always difficult to part ways with previous players, we are eager to embark on this new journey. Our foundational principles remain constant, centered around an aggressive, fearless approach. I am optimistic about our performance this season,” Klinger added.

During the accelerated round, Gujarat opted to use their second RTM on Kashvee Gautam (Rs 65 lakh) and followed this with three consecutive acquisitions: Kanika Ahuja (Rs 30 lakh), left-arm spin all-rounder Tanuja Kanwar (Rs 45 lakh), and Australian leg-spinner Georgia Wareham, who returned for Rs 1 crore.

Additionally, GG strengthened their roster with Australian all-rounder Kim Garth and local wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia (both at Rs 50 lakh), along with promising domestic talents Anushka Sharma (Rs 45 lakh), Happy Kumari (Rs 10 lakh), and Shivani Singh (Rs 10 lakh).

“We are thrilled with how events transpired at the auction. Our squad now boasts several seasoned players capable of guiding the team, providing us with considerable flexibility in forming our playing combinations,” Klinger expressed.

“Utilizing our RTM options was equally crucial, as it enables us to retain that youthful, energetic core that embodies our values and style of play. We eagerly anticipate the new season and returning to play in Vadodara at our home ground,” said Sanjay Adesara, Chief Business Officer at Adani Sportsline.

They concluded their auction strategies with the acquisition of England batter Danielle Wyatt-Hodge (Rs 50 lakh) and Rajeshwari Gayakwad (Rs 40 lakh), while also investing in promising talent Ayushi Soni for Rs 30 lakh. The 2026 WPL season is scheduled to take place from January 9 to February 5 in Navi Mumbai and Vadodara.
