Porbandar, Nov 19 (NationPress) The esteemed Shri Krishna–Rukshmani Yatradham located in Madhavpur Ghed is poised for an extensive enhancement, as the Gujarat government has revealed plans for a second phase of development totaling over ₹43.72 crore.
This initiative will encompass the restoration of the historic Madhavrayji Temple, improved beach facilities, better parking options, and a range of new infrastructure developments throughout the pilgrimage area, as detailed by officials today.
The first phase, which was completed at a cost of ₹48 crore, saw the development of the Shri Rukshmani Mata Temple, the Chori Mayra site, approach roads, Brahmakund, the main entrance, and parts of the beach. With the commencement of Phase-II, the total investment in the Yatradham has now surpassed ₹91 crore.
In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of 'Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi', Gujarat is setting new standards in maintaining cultural and spiritual heritage while providing top-notch infrastructure at its key pilgrimage sites.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, locations such as Ambaji, Dwarka, Pavagadh, and Bahucharaji have undergone comprehensive 360-degree development to enrich the experience for devotees from all over India.
In Madhavpur Ghed, the second phase will concentrate on reconstructing the Shri Madhavrayji Temple, developing a 300-meter beach area adjacent to the temple, widening the road from the Turtle Breeding Centre to the temple to 9 meters, and adding vital facilities such as food kiosks, restrooms, landscaped areas, sculptures, signage, fountains, selfie spots, and designated parking and dining zones.
The master plan integrates numerous sacred and cultural sites, all within approximately one kilometer of each other, to create a cohesive spiritual circuit for pilgrims.
Officials from the Gujarat Pilgrimage Development Board have noted that these ongoing enhancements will significantly improve tourist facilities and elevate Madhavpur's status as a prominent spiritual tourism hub.
With enhanced accessibility, upgraded infrastructure, and a better visitor experience, this coastal pilgrimage town is expected to draw more devotees and travelers nationwide, further enhancing Gujarat’s reputation in the spiritual tourism arena.
