Gurugram, Nov 9 (NationPress) In a disturbing incident, two Class 11 students allegedly fired shots at their fellow student using a licensed pistol that belonged to the father of one of the suspects at a luxurious housing society in Haryana's Gurugram, as reported by police on Sunday.
The injured, a 17-year-old student, is currently receiving treatment at a private medical facility, while both suspects have been detained by the authorities.
This incident took place on Saturday evening at Central Park Resorts in Sector 48 when one of the accused invited the victim to an apartment leased by his father.
According to the police, initial investigations indicate that the attack was instigated after a previous altercation. All three teenagers are enrolled in a school situated near the housing complex.
In a complaint lodged at the Sadar Police Station, the mother of the injured student revealed that the primary suspect, whose father's firearm was involved, had repeatedly urged her son to meet him. Although the victim initially declined, he eventually succumbed to the pressure and agreed to meet. The suspect then came to the victim's residence to escort him.
Upon arrival at the rented apartment, the victim encountered another friend of the accused already there. It was at this moment that the primary suspect allegedly discharged his father's licensed weapon, injuring the young man.
Upon being alerted about the situation, a police team quickly arrived at the scene and discovered that the injured individual had already been transported to Medanta Hospital for medical care.
During their investigation, the police seized a pistol, a magazine, five live rounds, an empty shell casing, and another magazine containing 65 live cartridges from a box inside the apartment.
A forensic team was summoned to the scene for additional analysis.
A case has been filed regarding the shooting, and a comprehensive investigation is currently in progress.
In the meantime, Gurugram Police have urged all gun owners to securely store their licensed firearms and ensure they are kept away from children to avert such unfortunate occurrences in the future.
