Chandigarh, Oct 7 (NationPress) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, addressing a gathering of Japanese investors and entrepreneurs in Osaka, expressed the state's commitment to deepen its collaboration with Japan in the realms of digital technologies and Industry 4.0.
The Chief Minister stated, “This partnership will forge a connection between Japan’s global innovation ecosystem and Haryana’s vibrant, skilled workforce. The Haryana government’s investor-friendly policies are tailored to cater to international entrepreneurs seeking to establish production, research, design, and innovation centres.”
The programme commenced with the Chief Minister warmly greeting the audience in Japanese, saying, “Konnichiwa, Mina-Sama!” He noted that Japan’s ‘Ganbatte’ spirit—representing an unwavering commitment to excellence—has inspired people around the globe.
He highlighted that the relationship between India and Japan transcends mere business; it embodies a connection rooted in shared cultural values. Today, both nations enjoy a special strategic partnership that underpins prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Japan, both countries established a joint vision for the next decade.
“This vision encompasses enhanced cooperation in pivotal areas such as economic security, sustainability, and technology. A significant result of this partnership is Japan’s historic promise to invest 10 trillion Japanese yen in India's public and private sectors, reflecting the profound trust and common interests shared by both nations,” he added.
The Chief Minister asserted that India and Japan are evolving beyond traditional trade relationships to focus on economic security.
“The two nations are emphasizing collaboration in transformative sectors like semiconductors, critical minerals, clean energy, and high-speed rail networks,” he remarked.
He stressed that prompt action at the grassroots is essential to ensure the success of this visit.
According to him, Haryana has already positioned itself as a favored destination for Japanese entrepreneurs.
“The industrial hubs of Gurugram and Manesar exemplify the enduring partnership between Haryana and Japan. Currently, around 400 Japanese companies are operating in Haryana, continuing a legacy that started in the 1980s with Suzuki’s entry into the state,” he noted.
The Chief Minister further highlighted Haryana's strategic geographical advantage, stating that the National Capital Region (NCR) serves as the gateway to one of the fastest-growing major economies globally, with two-thirds of Haryana located within this region. He emphasized that Haryana boasts world-class infrastructure.
“Haryana is not merely a market; it is a manufacturing powerhouse,” he declared.
“We take pride in our automobile sector, which produces the highest number of passenger cars in India,” he added.
CM Saini also noted Haryana's significant role in the global software ecosystem and leadership in sustainable manufacturing, with Panipat recognized as the world’s largest handloom hub.
The Chief Minister concluded by stating that the government has crafted policies that align seamlessly with Japan’s technological strengths and the shared vision of mutual growth. He extended an invitation to Japanese investors to explore investment opportunities in Haryana.
