An FIR (First Information Report) was lodged against both individuals at a police station located in the tourist area of Kasauli in the Solan district. The police report states that the complainant, a Haryana resident, claims that approximately one and a half years prior, both men assaulted her under the guise of facilitating a government job.

The woman approached the Kasauli police to file her complaint, leading to the registration of the case on December 13, 2024.

In July of the previous year, the first-time lawmaker Badoli, a Brahmin, was appointed as the president of the BJP's Haryana division. He succeeded Nayab Saini, who became the Chief Minister, ahead of the Assembly elections.

With roots in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Badoli began his political journey by winning a Zila Parishad election from Murthal, marking a first for a BJP candidate. He contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Sonipat but was defeated by the Congress' Satpal Brahamchari by a margin exceeding 21,000 votes.
