Chandigarh, Feb 10 (NationPress) The most senior minister in Haryana and a seven-time legislator, Anil Vij, received a show cause notice from the BJP on Monday due to his public remarks directed against the Chief Minister and the party's state president.
This notice, dispatched by Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli, demands a response within three days, highlighting worries about potential harm to the party’s reputation during election efforts.
Vij's recent comments have led to considerable unease within the party hierarchy, which has chosen to remain relatively silent regarding the issues raised. At seventy-one years old, Vij accused the party of not taking necessary actions against individuals who he believes attempted to undermine him in the upcoming 2024 Assembly elections for the Ambala Cantonment constituency.
He further alleged that there were attempts to defeat him, purportedly with the backing of a prominent political figure.
Additionally, Vij expressed frustration over officials not adhering to his directives, asserting that he is willing to undertake a hunger strike like farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal for the benefit of his constituents in Ambala Cantonment.
Last month, Energy Minister Vij stated that BJP state president Badoli, who was implicated in a gangrape case, should resign until his innocence is established by the Himachal Pradesh Police.
He argued that Badoli’s resignation would uphold the party's integrity.
In a critical remark directed at CM Saini, Vij noted that the Chief Minister would only grasp the situation when he “sets foot on the ground”.
In response to Vij's accusations, Chief Minister Saini contended that Vij “is not upset with him,” adding that “he is a senior party leader and has the right to express his views”.
Vij, a three-time Cabinet minister, secured victory against Congress rebel and Independent candidate Chitra Sarwara by a margin of 7,277 votes in Ambala Cantt, marking his seventh electoral win and fourth consecutive triumph from this seat.
