New Delhi, Jan 18 (NationPress) Haryana's Transport Minister Anil Vij stated on Sunday that the forthcoming state Budget is expected to meet the expectations of the citizens.
During a discussion on the law and order situation in the state, he emphasized that the government is fulfilling its duties. He identified the enhancement of the power infrastructure as a critical focus to guarantee an uninterrupted and high-quality electricity supply to consumers.
Vij addressed media inquiries, and in response to a question about Congress’s remarks concerning the rising state debt, he quipped whether Congress had abandoned politics for astrology.
He mentioned that the Budget is in the final stages of preparation, with feedback being gathered from various stakeholders. In this context, the Chief Minister is actively meeting with all departments to ensure a robust budget proposal.
When asked about maintaining law and order, he revealed that approximately 5,000 anti-social elements had been incarcerated, indicating that the government is indeed fulfilling its obligations. Discussions took place on Sunday with Union Energy Minister Manohar Lal Khattar concerning the advancement of the energy sector, ensuring the populace benefits from energy initiatives with support from the central government.
He reaffirmed the commitment to enhance the power system to provide an uninterrupted and quality electricity supply to consumers. He assured that power supply has already been secured for the summer, and there are currently no issues in winter, nor is there any discrepancy between demand and supply.
Vij noted that upgrades to transformers and conductors throughout the state are underway, with extensive improvements being made in Gurugram and Faridabad. He stated that securing a coal block is essential when establishing a new thermal plant or unit.
He announced plans to install 800 MW units in Panipat and Khedar in Hisar, and recently, the central government allocated a coal linkage for the Khedar unit, expediting its development.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the groundwork for a new 800 MW unit in Yamunanagar, with progress already being made, the minister indicated.
