Chandigarh, April 22 (NationPress) In a significant pro-farmer initiative, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday instructed officials to directly procure crops from farmers in villages where consolidation has not yet been finalized, utilizing an offline method instead of the Meri Fasal-Mera Byora portal.
This directive was issued during a review meeting of the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department held here.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Rajesh Nagar.
CM Saini underscored the government's commitment to supporting farmers and ensuring they do not encounter any difficulties.
He pointed out that in villages where consolidation is incomplete, farmers face challenges in selling their crops due to insufficient data on the Meri Fasal-Mera Byora portal.
To resolve this issue, the government has opted to facilitate crop procurement through an offline method in these villages, he noted.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister learned that 17.40 lakh women have registered under the Har Ghar-Har Grihini Yojana.
He instructed officials to verify the data of the Ujjwala Scheme beneficiaries and Below Poverty Line (BPL) families through door-to-door assessments.
Additionally, he directed gas companies to establish camps at depots to aid consumers with LPG cylinder distribution.
Furthermore, he affirmed that BPL families will continue to receive LPG cylinders at the subsidized price of Rs 500.
In a related matter, CM Saini has requested an exemption from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on 10 agricultural implements utilized in crop residue management.
In a communication to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan last month, he expressed that stubble burning has emerged as a significant concern, negatively affecting public health, while the state's farmers are adopting modern technologies and using the latest agricultural implements for crop residue management.
