Mumbai, Feb 26 (NationPress) On the significant day of Maha Shivratri, actress and politician Hema Malini took to social media to extend her warm wishes to her followers. She expressed, "Today marks a sacred occasion for us! A day rich in spiritual meaning. It is Maha Shivratri, a time to seek the blessings of the lord."

In her post, she quoted Sadhguru, stating, "Shivratri is about finding refuge in Shiva (the soul). It is a celebration of the Shiva tatva within us. The word 'Ratri' means night, the time that brings rest or peace, when everything becomes calm and serene. Shivaratri represents not just rest for the body, but also for the mind and the ego."

Hema Malini also participated in the Maha Kumbh, where she took a holy dip at Prayagraj, coinciding with the day of a tragic stampede. The BJP MP faced criticism for her remarks that the stampede was not a "significant incident."

While speaking to the media in the Parliament House complex, Hema stated, "We attended the Kumbh... enjoyed a wonderful bath... Everything was well-organized. While it is true that the incident (stampede) happened... It wasn’t as significant as portrayed. I’m unsure of the magnitude. It’s being blown out of proportion... The arrangements were commendable, and we are managing as best as we can given the crowd size."

Previously, Hema Malini was present at the 10th edition of the International Women’s Conference held at the Art of Living Center in Bengaluru, which was inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu.

During her speech, she remarked, "Many inquire how I juggle dance, performances, and public service. I simply say, ‘Just Be.’ Yoga, dancing, and meditation—as taught by Gurudev—assist me in finding my center."

She was honored with the esteemed 'Vishalakshi Award' for her contributions to Indian cinema, performing arts, and public service.
