Patna, Feb 26 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, engaged in the celebrations of the Maha Shivratri Shobha Yatra welcome festivities close to the Khajpura Shiv Temple in Patna on Wednesday.
He conducted the aarti of Lord Bholenath, Goddess Parvati, and their vahana, Lord Nandi, praying for peace, prosperity, and happiness throughout Bihar.
During the Maha Shivratri festivities, the Chief Minister honored the participating organizations in the Shobha Yatra by giving them symbolic gifts.
The organizations reciprocated by draping a shawl and presenting symbolic gifts to the Chief Minister. The procession, featuring Lord Bholenath's entourage, was celebrated with grand aarti and floral blessings.
This year’s Maha Shivratri festivities created a profound Shiva-centric atmosphere in the capital. Numerous temples were adorned, and throughout the day, a steady flow of devotees visited the Shiv temples.
Under the guidance of the Maha Shivaratri Shobha Yatra Committee, 32 Shobha Yatras were organized from various parts of the city on Wednesday evening, showcasing festive music, splendid tableaux, and vibrant processions. All processions adhered to planned routes and converged at the main event at Khajpura Shiv Temple in the evening.
Along the procession path, several ornamental gateways were constructed, with arrangements for floral showers and stalls providing drinks and water set up at 20 locations. Thousands of devotees gathered around the Khajpura Shiv Temple.
The event was graced by Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, former Governor of Sikkim Ganga Prasad, the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia, JD-U National General Secretary Manish Kumar Verma, along with various public representatives and numerous devotees.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister conveyed his greetings and best wishes for Maha Shivratri, expressing hope that the festival would usher in peace, prosperity, and happiness to all citizens of the state.
