Minister Ashok Chaudhary highlighted the significance of such gatherings, stating: “JD-U organizes Iftar parties annually to foster brotherhood between Hindus and Muslims.”

Nitish Kumar has been actively attending Iftar events over the past four to five days, demonstrating his engagement with the Muslim community.

The inaugural Iftar gathering was held at Nitish Kumar's residence on Sunday, although it experienced a partial boycott from certain Muslim organizations due to his alliance with the BJP.

Additionally, he attended the Iftar hosted by Chirag Paswan and participated in an Iftar organized by Jitan Ram Manjhi in Patna. He also took part in the Iftar event held by his party minister Jama Khan.

The ongoing Iftar celebrations signify intense political symbolism in Bihar. The RJD, led by Lalu Prasad Yadav, has been at the forefront of these gatherings.

Lalu Prasad Yadav also hosted an Iftar celebration at the residence of senior leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui on Monday, drawing a substantial turnout from the Muslim community.

Despite the lively atmosphere at Haj Bhawan, Nitish Kumar chose not to engage with the media and departed the venue shortly after meeting with community leaders.

The series of Iftar gatherings has evolved into a crucial platform for political outreach in Bihar. With the 2025 Bihar assembly elections on the horizon, these events are perceived as strategies by political figures to enhance community connections and garner voter support, especially among the Muslim community.
