Patna, March 27 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, participated in an Iftar gathering held at Haj Bhawan in Patna on Thursday, coinciding with the ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ initiative launched by the BJP aimed at engaging the Muslim community.
The ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ campaign is set to connect with 32 lakh Muslim families, intending to uplift the economically weaker segments of this community.
He was joined by several prominent leaders, including Ashok Chaudhary, Minister of Rural Works, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Minister of Water Resources, Jama Khan, and various other JD-U officials.
The event attracted a large crowd, reinforcing the theme of communal harmony and brotherhood.
During the festivities, attendees chanted ‘2025 again CM Nitish Kumar’, showcasing their robust support for the Chief Minister as the Bihar Assembly elections approach.
Minister Ashok Chaudhary highlighted the significance of these gatherings, stating, “JD-U organizes Iftar parties annually to foster brotherhood between Hindus and Muslims.”
Nitish Kumar has actively engaged with the Muslim community by attending multiple Iftar events over the past few days.
The inaugural Iftar party took place at the Chief Minister’s residence on Sunday, although it experienced a partial boycott from certain Muslim organizations due to his alliance with the BJP.
Additionally, he attended Iftar events hosted by Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi in Patna, along with an Iftar organized by his party minister Jama Khan.
The ongoing Iftar gatherings symbolize the heightened political dynamics in Bihar, with the RJD, led by Lalu Prasad Yadav, actively conducting similar events.
On Monday, Lalu Prasad Yadav hosted an Iftar at the residence of senior leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui, which was well-attended by the Muslim community.
On Tuesday, the BJP launched a nationwide outreach initiative for minorities, beginning with the distribution of ‘Saugat-e-Modi’ kits to the Muslim community ahead of Eid.
This program, led by the BJP’s Minority Morcha, saw 200 individuals from Navi Mumbai receiving their kits on the launch day.
