Minister Ashok Chaudhary highlighted the significance of such gatherings, stating: "JDU organizes Iftar celebrations annually to foster unity between Hindus and Muslims."

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been actively attending Iftar events over the past several days, demonstrating his commitment to engaging with the Muslim community.

The first Iftar was held at CM Nitish Kumar's residence on Sunday, although it faced a partial boycott from some Muslim organizations due to his alliance with the BJP.

In addition, the Chief Minister attended an Iftar hosted by his ally, Chirag Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party, and also participated in the Iftar organized by Jitan Ram Manjhi, President of the Hindustani Awam Morcha, in Patna.

He further joined the Iftar event led by JD-U leader and Cabinet Minister Mohd. Zama Khan.

These ongoing Iftar celebrations carry significant political implications in Bihar.

The Rashtriya Janata Dal, led by Lalu Prasad Yadav, has been prominently involved in organizing these events.

Lalu Prasad Yadav hosted an Iftar gathering at the residence of senior RJD leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui on Monday, which attracted a substantial turnout from the Muslim community.

Despite the lively atmosphere at Haj Bhawan, CM Nitish Kumar chose not to engage with the media and departed soon after meeting with community leaders.

The series of Iftar parties has evolved into a crucial avenue for political engagement in Bihar.

As the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections draw near, these celebrations are perceived as strategic efforts by political figures to enhance community relations and garner voter allegiance, especially among the Muslim community.
