Nitish Kumar Graces Chirag Paswan's Iftar Celebration in Patna
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
On March 16, in Patna, Union Minister Chirag Paswan hosted a significant Iftar gathering, which saw the attendance of Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar.
The event took place at the Lok Janshakti Party's state headquarters, named after Ram Vilas Paswan.
Among the notable attendees were state minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, minister Jama Khan, and the National Working President of Janata Dal (United), Sanjay Jha.
Chirag Paswan took the time to personally greet each guest during the Iftar.
Addressing the media, Paswan remarked that the tradition of hosting such Iftar gatherings was initiated by his father, the late Ram Vilas Paswan.
“I strive to uphold this tradition,” he stated, emphasizing that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's presence was a point of pride for the party's workers.
Paswan expressed his hope that the camaraderie and spirit of peace exhibited during the gathering would resonate throughout the state.
In light of the ongoing tensions in the Middle East during Ramadan, he mentioned the current Israel-Iran situation and prayed for peace in the region.
When asked about the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, Paswan criticized the Opposition, particularly the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), for its performance.
Referring to Tejashwi Yadav, he noted that while the Opposition previously attempted to sow discord among various parties, they now face their own internal challenges.
“It’s quite surprising that some RJD legislators were absent during the voting. If a party cannot unify its members, how can it anticipate success in the Rajya Sabha elections?” Paswan remarked, also noting that three legislators from the Indian National Congress were missing.
He asserted that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) had remained confident of their victory from the outset.
Paswan further commented that Nitish Kumar might return to a national political role.
“Kumar has previously managed significant responsibilities at the central level. As he prepares for a potential return to national politics, I offer my congratulations and best wishes. His extensive experience will undoubtedly benefit Bihar and its populace,” Paswan added, revealing that the next Chief Minister's name would be disclosed soon.
