Assam swearing-in: PM Modi, top NDA leaders bless Himanta Sarma's second term
Guwahati, 12 May — The swearing-in ceremony of Assam's third consecutive Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government drew a high-powered national audience, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and multiple Chief Ministers from National Democratic Alliance (NDA)-ruled states attending the event at Khanapara playground in Guwahati. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in for a second consecutive term, with four other ministers also taking oath on the day.
A Historic Occasion for Assam
Senior BJP leader and newly sworn-in minister Ajanta Neog described the ceremony as both historic and emotional. Speaking to reporters after taking her oath, she said the attendance of the Prime Minister and top national leaders underscored the confidence and support extended to the Sarma-led administration.
