New Delhi, Nov 15 (NationPress) — The Union Home Ministry took significant steps to resolve 3,977 public grievances during the month of October. This included addressing 119 references from Members of Parliament (MP), 199 references from state governments, and 718 appeals related to various Ministry activities, according to an official announcement made on Saturday.
This achievement was part of a larger initiative aimed at enhancing accountability, transparency, and effective service delivery throughout the Ministry and its field offices, the official noted.
A robust social media campaign was also launched to raise awareness about the Ministry’s activities and achievements.
The Ministry executed the Special Campaign 5.0 from October 2 to October 31, targeting the resolution of pending matters.
Motivated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to institutionalize Swachhata and reduce government backlog, the 30-day campaign focused on promoting cleanliness, optimizing workflow, and addressing outstanding grievances within the Ministry and its associated organizations.
Under the leadership of Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, particular emphasis was placed on field and outstation offices that engage directly with the public.
Initially, 4,187 sites were earmarked for the Swachhata campaign, which was later expanded to 7,678 sites. The campaign effectively resolved 119 MP references, 199 state government references, 3,977 public grievances, and 718 appeals, as detailed in the statement.
Throughout this month-long initiative, 194,522 physical files and 65,997 electronic files were assessed, resulting in the liberation of 95,186 sq. ft. of space. Additionally, over Rs 3.45 crore was raised through scrap disposal.
The campaign was rigorously monitored at the highest levels, with Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar actively involved in its execution and progress assessment.
All divisions of the MHA, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and related organizations participated enthusiastically in the campaign.
