Mumbai, Nov 16 (NationPress) Actress Huma Qureshi has highlighted the significance of creative freedom within the film industry.
During a recent conversation with IANS at the Jagran Film Festival, she stressed that a lively cinema environment flourishes when filmmakers of all types—whether large, small, mainstream, or independent—are given the opportunity to create. Huma pointed out that it is crucial for filmmakers to keep their audience in mind while experimenting with various storytelling approaches, as this diversity in cinema not only enriches the industry but also enhances the viewing experience.
The ‘Jolly LLB 3’ star remarked, “We must observe the audience and create films accordingly. Films should be made in diverse styles; it’s not feasible to have a single approach. Both big-budget films and smaller, independent projects should coexist. I believe the film industry becomes stronger and more vibrant when there is freedom to make various types of films and when audiences have the opportunity to watch them.”
Discussing her role as a villain in ‘Delhi Crime Season 3’, she shared, “This is the first time I’ve portrayed such a negative character. When I received the call about Delhi Crime, I was in the midst of shooting for Maharani, and my initial thought was that I was being offered a cop role. However, I was informed that I was actually being considered for the antagonist.”
“Playing the antagonist is quite challenging, but it has been immensely enjoyable. Audiences will witness a very different character portrayal from me. Moreover, since these two shows have been released back-to-back, I’ve been receiving numerous messages and calls daily about the contrast between both characters,” she added.
The series also features Shefali Shah, Rajesh Tailang, and Rasika Dugal. This gripping crime drama premiered on November 13 on Netflix.
