Guwahati, Oct 30 (NationPress) The Indian Air Force (IAF) is gearing up to captivate the residents of the Northeast with a spectacular aerial exhibition above the stunning Brahmaputra River at Lachit Ghat in early November. This event commemorates the 93rd anniversary of the IAF, as announced by officials on Thursday.
According to Defence spokesperson Lt Col Mahendra Rawat, extensive preparations are underway for this momentous occasion, with aircraft and display teams already arriving in Guwahati to commence rehearsals and coordination in anticipation of this eagerly awaited showcase.
The aerial display is scheduled to occur from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 5 and 6, as well as on November 8 and 9, visible from both the northern and southern banks of the Brahmaputra.
Attendees will have a rare chance to experience a breathtaking aerial spectacle featuring an array of aircraft, including the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas, the Rafale, and the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT), alongside other frontline IAF platforms.
This year’s Air Force Day celebrations are themed “Infallible, Impervious and Precise – अचूक, अभेद्य व सटीक,” which embodies the IAF’s steadfast dedication to operational excellence, resilience, and precision in every mission, as stated by the spokesperson.
Moreover, the event aims to honor the rich legacy of the Indian Air Force while motivating the youth of the region to consider careers in the IAF and contribute to the nation’s growth and security.
The IAF Flying Display–2025 is anticipated to attract substantial public interest from across the Northeastern states.
The Northeast region of India comprises eight states: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim, which was officially recognized as the eighth state of the Northeast in 2002.
Lt Col Rawat mentioned that additional information regarding viewing arrangements, traffic advisories, and access routes will be disseminated closer to the event through official IAF social media channels and local media outlets.
