Guwahati, Nov 9 (NationPress) A spectacular flypast featuring Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft, notably the Tejas and Rafale, delighted audiences on Sunday during an air show in Guwahati, marking the 93rd anniversary of the IAF, according to an official statement.

The roar of the crowd resonated as the Tejas, Rafale, and the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team executed stunning aerial displays, demonstrating the IAF's skill and precision at Lachit Ghat, Guwahati, as noted by the official.

Among the attendees were Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, who commended the pilots for their impressive coordination and breathtaking maneuvers.

In a fitting homage to the IAF's 93 years of steadfast service to the nation, the show featured a total of 58 aircraft, including approximately 25 formations involving both fighter jets and transport planes, as mentioned by the official.

This flypast was part of the IAF Day festivities, which included a parade held at Air Force Station Hindon, Ghaziabad, on October 8, with the Guwahati flypast occurring later.

All major fighter jets, including a specific formation of aircraft that participated in Operation Sindoor, were showcased during the event, as reported by officials.

The Sarang Team of the Indian Air Force also made a return to the skies after a hiatus due to an incident in Gujarat, according to sources.

The aircraft that participated in the show launched from Tezpur, Hasimara, Guwahati, and various other nearby bases.

The aerial display involved aircraft such as the Tejas, Rafale, Su-30 MKI, Mi-17, Apache, ALH Mk-1, C-295, C-130J Super Hercules, An-32, AEW&C, MiG-29, IL-78, Mirage, Hawk, Jaguar, C-17, and Harvard, as detailed by the official.

Previously, on October 8, the IAF celebrated its 93rd anniversary at Air Force Station Hindon, Ghaziabad, featuring leaders such as Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, along with the Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of the Naval Staff.

The parade was reviewed by the IAF Chief, with past Chiefs of Air Staff and senior IAF officials in attendance.

The proceedings began with the ceremonial presentation of the President's Colours, symbolizing pride, unity, strength, and camaraderie. Upon arrival, the Air Chief received an aerial salute from three Mi-17 1V helicopters in a 'Dhwaj' formation, which showcased the National flag, the IAF flag, and the Operation Sindoor flag.

During his address to the parade, the IAF Chief reflected on the IAF's remarkable evolution from its modest beginnings to its status as the 'Fourth largest Air Force in the World', capable of decisively influencing military outcomes with speed and accuracy.

He highlighted the IAF's performance in Operation Sindoor as evidence of its capabilities, noting that bold and precise attacks have reinstated the importance of offensive air action in national awareness.

The IAF Chief reiterated the force's confidence in its domestically developed weaponry, emphasizing the commitment to innovation and adaptability, and underscoring the principle of ‘Train like we fight’ in its training and planning approach.
