Jerusalem, July 12 (NationPress) The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) reported on Saturday that it has been targeting terrorists and their infrastructure in the Gaza Strip over the past two days.
In a statement on X, the IDF noted, “IDF forces are actively engaged in striking terrorist infrastructure and individuals across the Gaza Strip: approximately 250 terrorist targets have been hit in the last 48 hours.”
“Units from Divisions 98, 36, 162, 143, and 99 are conducting operations guided by Military Intelligence and Shin Bet against terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip,” it added.
Forces from Division 98 are currently operating in Gaza City’s Zaytoun and Shuja'iyya neighborhoods, according to security sources.
The IDF has reportedly located and dismantled explosive devices and observation posts utilized by Hamas and Islamic Jihad to ambush Israeli soldiers since Thursday.
Furthermore, the IDF stated that their Air Force units, under the command of the division's fire control center, have killed numerous terrorists who were allegedly engaged in hostilities against Israel in the area.
In the past 24 hours, Division 162 has neutralized terrorists and targeted their infrastructure, as detailed by the IDF.
“During Brigade 401's operations, two Hamas terrorists were identified; following this, an aircraft was deployed to eliminate them,” the IDF explained.
Over the last day, the Givati Brigade's combat unit has conducted missions in the Beit Hanoun area of northern Gaza. The IDF is reportedly eliminating a significant number of terrorists and destroying weaponry, infrastructure, and underground routes as part of its ongoing operation.
“In the last 48 hours, the Air Force has targeted roughly 250 terrorist locations throughout the Gaza Strip. Among the targets engaged to support ground forces are terrorists, booby-trapped buildings, weapons storage sites, anti-tank launch positions, sniper placements, combat tunnels, and additional terrorist infrastructure,” stated the IDF.
