Kochi, July 27 (NationPress) RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat emphasized the need for India to evolve into a robust and economically self-sufficient nation, highlighting that the global community acknowledges and respects strength.
During the ‘Gyan Sabha’, a national education conference hosted by the Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas — an organization affiliated with the RSS — Bhagwat urged that India should transcend the mere symbolism of being the “golden bird” and instead transform into a “lion”.
“The world comprehends power. Thus, Bharat needs to fortify itself. It must also amass wealth economically,” Bhagwat asserted, underscoring that both strength and affluence are vital for India to assert its rightful position on the global stage.
Addressing the subject of national identity, Bhagwat firmly advocated for the preservation of the name ‘Bharat’ without translation. “Bharat is a proper noun. It should not be translated. ‘India is Bharat’ — that’s accurate. But Bharat is Bharat. In any context — personal or public, spoken or written — we should refer to it as Bharat,” he stressed.
He further noted that Bharat’s identity must be honored and valued for its true essence. “If you compromise your identity, then despite your other qualities, the world will neither honor nor safeguard you. That’s the essential principle,” Bhagwat highlighted.
The RSS chief elaborated on the significance and principles of education, asserting that genuine education empowers individuals to live autonomously while fostering a spirit of sacrifice and altruism. “Education that promotes selfishness is not authentic education,” he proclaimed.
He also mentioned that education extends beyond classrooms, influencing both home and society. “The environment in which children are nurtured is crucial. Society should contemplate what kind of atmosphere is required to cultivate a confident and responsible generation,” Bhagwat remarked.
The conference was graced by the presence of Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, along with numerous esteemed academicians and vice-chancellors from various parts of India. Prominent figures such as President of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary Dr. Atul Kothari, Coordinator A Vinod, and Chairman of Cochin Shipyard Madhu Nair were also in attendance.
This event aimed at reconfiguring the nation’s educational framework in accordance with Indian cultural values, preparing the youth to confront future challenges with clarity and confidence.
