Bengaluru, March 10 (NationPress) India Post has unveiled a collection of five picture postcards featuring the late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar to honor what would have been his 50th birth anniversary.

S. Rajendra Kumar, the Chief Postmaster General of the Karnataka Circle, announced that India Post is celebrating the actor's milestone by collaborating with Puneeth Rajkumar's Gandhadagudi Agarbattis to produce these special postcards.

A Special Cancellation, a unique postmark designed to celebrate special events, will be issued on March 17. Those interested can obtain the postcards from philatelic bureaus across Karnataka, along with the Special Cancellations on all five postcards.

The Karnataka government has also paid tribute to the late actor by naming a section of the ring road in Bengaluru after him. The initiative was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai of the BJP government in February 2023.

The proposal to rename the stretch from Mysuru Road to Bannerghatta Road in honor of Puneeth Rajkumar was approved by the government. Minister for Revenue R. Ashoka remarked that "Puneeth was a person with a generous heart, deeply engaged in social work."

“While stars often demand hefty sums for advertisements, Puneeth took on the role of ambassador for Nandini Milk, a product from the cooperative Karnataka Milk Federation, without any payment, solely to support farmers,” he added.

Prominent figures at the launch included Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar, and Puneeth’s wife Ashwini Puneethrajkumar.

During a gathering in Bengaluru, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended invitations to Puneeth Rajkumar’s wife, along with notable personalities such as Yash from KGF Chapter -2 and director and actor Rishab Shetty from Kantara, along with producer Vijay Kirgandur from Hombale Films, in February 2023.

Puneeth Rajkumar, who passed away on October 29, 2021, was the youngest son of the legendary Kannada actor Dr Rajkumar and was renowned for his versatile talents in both film and television, as well as his philanthropic efforts.
