New Delhi, Jan 30 (NationPress) India’s engineering exports experienced a growth of 3.88%, reaching $90.73 billion during the April-December timeframe in 2025, compared to $87.34 billion from the prior year, as indicated in a recent report.
Exports to the United States saw a 1% increase year-over-year, totaling $1.66 billion in December 2025, despite the punitive tariffs enforced by the US administration, according to the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC India).
Globally, India's overall engineering goods exports rose by 1.28% year-on-year in December to $10.98 billion, up from $10.84 billion in the previous year. In the first nine months of FY26, shipments to the US grew approximately 5% year-on-year, reaching $14.68 billion.
Engineering goods exports to the European Union (EU) surged by 7.5% year-on-year, amounting to $1.99 billion in December. Cumulatively, shipments to the EU for the April-December phase of 2025-26 experienced a 9% increase year-on-year, totaling $16.34 billion.

Despite a decline in exports to the UAE and Saudi Arabia, shipments to Singapore more than doubled in December 2025, the report highlighted.
December's engineering exports represented the second-highest figure in FY26, following $11.01 billion in November 2025. The trade promotion organization noted that while November's high growth stemmed from a lower statistical base, December’s slower year-on-year growth was attributed to a higher base.
This growth was primarily driven by robust exports of copper along with significant increases in exports of iron and steel, aluminum and its products, motor vehicles/cars, other construction machinery, and ships, boats, and floating structures.
Pankaj Chadha, Chairman of EEPC India, remarked, "Despite the rising protectionism in developed nations, India's engineering exports to the US and key EU economies maintained a positive trajectory in December 2025, indicating resilience during challenging times."
Chadha also pointed out that the free trade agreement (FTA) with the EU is anticipated to yield considerable benefits for the exporting community.
The share of engineering in total merchandise exports stood at an impressive 28.5% in December, as per data from the government.
Shipments to the top two export markets, the US and the EU, showed commendable growth, while exports to ASEAN countries surged by 46.4% year-on-year. However, exports to WANA (West Asia and North Africa), South Asia, and other European nations declined during December 2025, according to the report.
