New Delhi, Feb 14 (NationPress) Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, the road infrastructure in India has expanded to a size greater than that of the United States, as stated by Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday.
While inaugurating two significant projects – the Munshi Pulia flyover and Khurram Nagar flyover, Gadkari expressed, “I assure you that within two years, the National Highway network in Uttar Pradesh will surpass that of the US.”
During his announcement of highway projects worth crores in Uttar Pradesh, Gadkari emphasized that the nation has sufficient funds, but it requires leaders with integrity and honesty.
“PM Modi envisions making India a ‘Vishwa Guru’ and the world’s third-largest economy. To achieve this, a significant infrastructure boost is essential to attract investments and generate employment,” he added, noting that the government aims to reduce logistics costs to 9 percent, which could enhance Indian exports by 1.5 times.
“Currently, both India and UP are evolving, with the state transforming into a growth engine for the nation. I aspire to complete highway projects valued at Rs 5 lakh crore before my tenure ends, having thus far achieved Rs 3.5 lakh crore,” he mentioned.
He assured that there would be no scarcity of funds for expanding UP's highway network, stating that he has overseen projects totaling Rs 50 lakh crore with no financial misconduct.
He indicated that PM Modi aims for UP to evolve into a growth powerhouse, with its exports also expected to rise by one-and-a-half times.
“The growth of infrastructure is crucial for UP’s prosperity, and we are all dedicated to making it an exemplary state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already established 'Ram Rajya' by enhancing law and order,” he stated.
“Thanks to the industrial investments attracted by the UP CM and the initiatives for farmers, there is no question that UP no longer belongs among the underdeveloped BIMARU states of the country,” he concluded.
