On March 4, the USS Charlotte, a Los Angeles-class submarine of the US Navy, launched a torpedo that sank Iran's Dena frigate in the Indian Ocean, resulting in the tragic loss of 104 crew members and injuring another 32.
Iran has confirmed that Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), and Gholam-Reza Soleimani, Commander of the Basij force within the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, were killed on Tuesday during Israeli airstrikes.
Also among the casualties was Larijani's son, Morteza, along with Alireza Bayat, Deputy Secretary of the SNSC for security affairs, and several bodyguards.

The funeral ceremony commenced in the renowned Enghelab Square and featured a procession to a burial site in southern Tehran designated for martyrs. The event was attended by the families of the deceased, Iranian state officials, military leaders, and a large crowd representing various societal sectors.
Mourners waved Iranian flags and carried images of their 'martyrs', including the country's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, expressing their loyalty to the new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei while chanting anti-US and anti-Israel slogans, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
They pledged to retaliate against the United States and Israel for their 'crimes' and the killing of Iranians amid the ongoing aggression against the nation.
On February 28, joint operations by Israel and the United States targeted Tehran and several Iranian cities, resulting in the deaths of high-profile figures, including military leaders and civilians. In response, Iran conducted multiple waves of missile and drone strikes on Israeli and US interests throughout the Middle East.
