Patna, Oct 2 (NationPress) Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh on Thursday criticized RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, labeling him as the 'Ravan' of Bihar.
While speaking at a Dussehra event, Singh, the MP from Begusarai, remarked, "Before 2005, 'Ravan' Lalu Prasad Yadav had control over Bihar."
In drawing a distinction between Lalu’s and Nitish Kumar’s governance, the Union Minister noted, "Lalu once initiated shepherd schools, whereas today, Nitish Kumar is establishing medical and engineering colleges across every district. Our government is now alleviating the hardships faced by the impoverished."
Singh emphasized the initiatives taken by the Centre and state, mentioning that over 2.5 crore women have benefitted from various schemes, with homes being allocated to the underprivileged.
The BJP leader also took aim at Congress figure Rahul Gandhi, branding him an "urban Naxal".
He stated, "Individuals like Rahul Gandhi merely resort to abusive language. Becoming an RSS volunteer demands seven lifetimes. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh serves the nation in times of crisis, while Rahul Gandhi indulges in theatrics."
Bihar's Water Resources Minister, Vijay Kumar Choudhary, criticized the RJD chief, asserting that the state experienced "Ravan Raj" during the Lalu-Rabri period, while under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, it has transitioned to "Ram Rajya."
During a media interaction in Begusarai, Minister Choudhary asked residents, "What was life like two decades ago? Could you move freely on the streets then? During Lalu Prasad Yadav's administration, there was Ravan Raj. Now, under Nitish Kumar's leadership, it is Ram Raj."
These comments emerge as political tensions rise in light of the Vijayadashami celebrations in Bihar.
BJP leaders, including Union Minister Giriraj Singh, have labeled Lalu and his son Tejashwi Yadav as "Ravan," while the RJD counters with pointed critiques of the NDA on social media.
Bihar is preparing for elections in October or November this year.
