This milestone marks the first-ever series win for the Indian team over England in this format, and notably, it was accomplished on English soil.
Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, the team clinched the series with a six-wicket triumph in the fourth T20I at Old Trafford. Despite a setback in the final match, where they lost by five wickets at Edgbaston on the last ball, their performance was commendable. The only other match India lost was the third T20I at The Oval, also on the last ball.
“Kudos to women’s #TeamIndia on their T20I series win against England. Brilliant fight, remarkable spirit, and a well-earned victory #IndVsEng,” Ishant expressed on X.
Former Indian pacer RP Singh shared his congratulations as well, expressing pride in the women’s team for making history.

In a thrilling chase of 168, a dramatic final over saw Arundhati Reddy take the wickets of Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones early on. However, Sophie Ecclestone and Paige Scholfield held their composure, sealing the victory off the last ball. The chase was propelled by a solid 101-run opening partnership between Danni Wyatt-Hodge (56 off 37) and Sophia Dunkley (46 off 30).
Earlier, India set a target of 167 runs, fueled by Shafali Verma’s explosive 75 from just 41 balls. Charlie Dean was the standout bowler for England, taking 3 wickets for 23 runs, including crucial dismissals of Shafali and Harmanpreet Kaur. Despite a strong late effort from India, England’s lower order remained resilient, concluding the series with a victory.
Both teams are set to clash again in a three-match ODI series beginning on July 16 in Southampton.
