Kolkata, Sep 4 (NationPress) In a remarkable achievement for West Bengal, Jadavpur University in Kolkata has claimed the title of the foremost state public university in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025. This accomplishment marks a rise from its previous second position in 2024, surpassing Anna University, which has now fallen to the second spot. On Thursday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her congratulations to the faculty and students of Jadavpur University after it secured the top position among state universities.
According to the India Rankings 2025 published by the Union Ministry of Education on Thursday, the university also achieved the ninth rank in the overall university category, earning accolades from various sectors.
This year’s NIRF rankings evaluated institutions across 17 distinct categories, including engineering, management, medicine, law, pharmacy, research, and the recently introduced Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) category.
