Key figures from the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) expressed their astonishment at the Prime Minister’s recitation of the Navkar Mantra, an act that left many feeling profoundly moved.

JITO, a significant organization within the Jain community, was responsible for inviting PM Modi to this special event, organized in celebration of Navkar Diwas.

Goutam Jain, President of JITO, described the experience as uniquely extraordinary.

In an interview with IANS, he remarked, “PM Modi connected with the Jain community, and his heartfelt expressions made the event truly memorable.”

When asked if he was taken aback by the Prime Minister’s recitation of the Navkar Mahamantra, he stated, “We did not anticipate this, but we were confident he would deliver something fresh and unique.

“The moment he chanted our Navkar mantra, it felt as though he had been practicing it since his childhood.”

Rushabh Patel, Chairman of JITO, extended his gratitude to the Prime Minister for participating in the Navkar Mahamantra Divas event.

In a conversation with IANS, he noted: “PM Modi eloquently discussed the spiritual significance of the Navkar Mantra and highlighted its potential to foster peace and mental stability. He also introduced nine resolutions for the day and encouraged everyone to embrace them.”

When asked if he was surprised by PM Modi’s recitation of the Navkar Mantra, he replied that he was pleasantly surprised and attempted to provide insights into its possible significance.

“The Prime Minister hails from Vadnagar, an area with a considerable Jain population. This likely influenced him during his formative years,” he emphasized.

Lalit Kumar Dangi, Secretary General of JITO, noted that everyone appreciated the depth with which PM Modi articulated the Jain values of non-violence, peace, and charity.

He echoed the Prime Minister’s sentiments, suggesting that Jainism can guide society in contemporary times.

Calling it a proud moment for the Jain community, he told IANS: "PM Modi took part in the grand event, attended by representatives from 108 countries and viewed by over 1.5 crore people. He effectively explained the principles of the Navkar Mantra and elaborated on its messages of peace, non-violence, charity, and public welfare."

"PM Modi emphasized that the Navkar Mantra cleanses the soul, alleviates stress, and promotes unity within society. His presence at this significant Jain community event instilled a sense of pride in us and inspired all attendees," he added.

He also commended PM Modi’s leadership during a time of global unrest.

“Thanks to PM Modi’s focus and guidance, India has emerged as a beacon of peace and progress. In a world filled with chaos, India stands stable. PM Modi has bolstered manufacturing through initiatives like production-linked incentives. Currently, India is swiftly exporting in sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, and steel, while also prioritizing infrastructure development. Their aim is to establish India as a global manufacturing hub, a goal they are successfully achieving. This lays a robust foundation for the future,” he commented.

Importantly, JITO has also proposed designating a specific day to celebrate Navkar Day, akin to Yoga Day.
