Jaipur, Dec 4 (NationPress) A judicial body in Jaipur has intensified its campaign against traffic infractions, implementing a stringent zero-tolerance policy aimed at enhancing road safety and discipline throughout the city, according to an official announcement made on Thursday.
The targeted enforcement initiative, orchestrated by Rajasthan Judicial Services officials Rohit Sharma and Himanshu Chawla, has resulted in decisive actions on the streets, including substantial fines and vehicle confiscations in serious instances.
This measure aims to dissuade dangerous driving practices while emphasizing the necessity of adhering to traffic regulations in the state capital.
Prosecution officials Sandeep Kumar Mund and Mohan Sharma noted that courts are now enforcing maximum prosecution fees post-conviction, particularly in incidents of drunk driving. They asserted that the goal is not merely punitive but also to foster an awareness of the repercussions associated with violating traffic laws.
Drunk driving has been a significant focus during this initiative, leading to considerable financial penalties. The court has imposed prosecution fees amounting to Rs 18,000 in two distinct cases.
Additionally, Court JM 14 First has imposed steep fines of Rs 14,000 on Ratiram Gurjar (RJ26CA9648) and Rs 15,000 on Sudhir Sharma (MH43X4832) for similar violations.
The court has also taken action against public transport offenders during inspections.
A bus with registration number RJ14PD7516 was confiscated for violating traffic regulations. While enforcing these rules, authorities ensured that passengers were not inconvenienced, assisting them and arranging alternative transport to continue their journey without interruption.
Officials emphasized that such actions are vital for decreasing road accidents and ensuring better compliance with traffic laws, particularly as cases of speeding, drunk driving, and reckless vehicle operation rise.
This enforcement campaign will persist in the upcoming days, with authorities appealing to citizens to cooperate and prioritize road safety for their own welfare and for the benefit of all users of Jaipur's roadways.
Experts stress that adhering to road safety regulations is essential for preventing accidents, protecting lives, and ensuring a smooth, orderly flow of traffic.
